RETURN TO
Origins.
Cham ve nguyen ban: the theme Da Nang carries for the next ten years, as the economic centre of central Vietnam. It opened as the key theme of the city’s 2026 tourism programme and was announced nationally. A city brand built not on landmarks but on the people who make the place.

A city everyone had already seen, about to become a city nobody had met.
Danang closed 2025 with 17.3 million visitors and revenue touching 60,000 billion VND. Then the map changed. After the merger with Quang Nam the city became Vietnam’s largest by area, 3.07 million people, and the economic centre of the whole central region. The numbers were not the problem. The story was.
Every campaign in the category sells the same shortlist — the bridge, the beach, the resort at golden hour. A visitor could not tell one coastal Vietnamese destination from another, because every one of them was selling the same postcard.
The brief was two jobs in one. In 2026, a stimulus programme: bring people back, and bring them deeper. Underneath it, a theme the city could carry for ten years, across tourism, investment and civic life, without wearing out. A drone shot does the first job for one season. It cannot do the second at all.

Cham ve nguyen ban — touch the original.
We moved the destination off its landmarks and onto its people. Not the skyline — the fisherman mending a net at 5am. Not the resort — the hands making the thing.
That reframe does three things at once. It separates Danang from every other coastal destination selling the same view. It gives a stimulus programme somewhere real to send people: into the districts, the craft villages, the markets, the rituals. And it is the only kind of promise that survives a decade. A bridge dates and a skyline gets rebuilt, but a fisherman mending a net at first light is as true in 2036 as in 2026. A city that is about to grow faster than any in the region needed a theme that says what it will keep, not only what it will build.
What we rejected: the landmark-led route. It tests safely, and it is precisely why the category is indistinguishable.

One theme, carried across a whole city.
A key-visual system that had to survive being a billboard, a bus stop, a wristband and an app icon — applied by dozens of hands across a destination, not by one studio in one room.
So it is built on a fixed compositional grammar rather than a locked artwork: a defined crop language for the photography, a consistent typographic lockup, and a colour discipline taken from the source material itself. Anyone briefed correctly can extend it without breaking it.

Applied where people actually meet it.
The test of a destination theme is not the deck. It is a bus stop at dusk, a wayfinding panel in the rain, a wristband on someone's arm three districts away.
Each surface was specified rather than mocked — stock, scale, and the crop rule that keeps the photography reading as the same campaign at any size.

If the promise is “touch the original”, the pictures have to be the original.
Three bodies of photography underpin the theme: the fishing community, the living culture, and the programme events themselves. Nothing staged, nothing licensed — this is the evidence the campaign rests on.

Announced as Danang's official 2026 tourism stimulus programme and carried to VITM Ha Noi 2026. Picked up by the national news agency, the city's own portal and the destination portal, plus general and trade press — earned, not placed. The mandate is longer than one season. Cham ve Nguyen ban is the theme the city itself carries for the coming decade: the brand of a post-merger Da Nang that is now Vietnam’s largest city by area, 3.07 million people, its third urban centre and the economic centre of the central region. A studio our size was handed the front door of a city of three million, which is why the system was built to be extended by other hands rather than protected by ours.
Visitor and revenue figures are Danang's published 2025 sector results — the baseline the 2026 programme was built against, not an outcome we claim. City population and area are the city’s published post-merger statistics. The ten-year horizon is the client’s brand mandate.
